Registration for Spring 2010 Babe Ruth Baseball and Cal Ripken Baseball Was Held February 6th and 7th.

Registration and tryouts were held at the Pleasant Hill High School gym on February 6th and 7th. The youth of Pleasant Hill, Creswell, Cottage Grove, Lowell, Dexter and other local area are looking forward to an exciting 2010 season of play in the Willamette Valley Babe Ruth League. Registration for T-ball will be taking place in March, dates to be announced.

No T-Ball evaluations will be held but signups will start in early March for kids 5 to 9. This will be a lot of fun, a short season and a great introduction to baseball, right here in Pleasant Hill. Watch for the flyers at schools or check the website for more information.

Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth is part of the Willamette Valley Babe Ruth League in Lane County, Oregon. Willamette Valley Babe Ruth represents  youth baseball teams from the following districts: Churchill, Elmira, Junction City, North Eugene, Pleasant Hill, Sheldon, South Eugene, Springfield, Thurston and Willamette.

Divisions:
The Willamette Valley Babe Ruth currently consists of two divisions.

Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth offers competitive youth baseball teams for players up to twelve years of age.

Babe Ruth offers competitive youth baseball teams for players thirteen and fourteen years of age.

Cal Ripken Division:

  • TBAll ages 5 – 9
  • Rookie Minor (9 and under)
  • Rookie (9 and under)
  • AA (9 – 12)
  • AAA (11 and under)
  • Major Minor (12 and under)
  • Majors (12 and under)

Babe Ruth Division:

  • Prep 13 (age 13)
  • 13 / 14 (age 13 and 14)

At age 13 players move on to the Babe Ruth division and play on regulation size fields. Under the Prep League rules, team rosters must be composed of all 13-year-old players. The 13-14 division is open to 13- and 14-year old players.

2010 Registration Fees:

Rookie   $175.00
AA – Majors $190.00
Preps $195.00

MasterCard and Visa will be accepted for the Spring 2010 registration for those that choose to use it. Your statement will read Siuslaw Charities instead of Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth as Siuslaw Bank has kindly offered to process the credit cards charges for us. Registration will be collected at the uniform tryons February 18th.

Recycling of Baseball Equipment

If your family has baseball equipment that your child has outgrown, please consider donating it to Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth or your team. This equipment will be used by your team or other children that are playing Babe Ruth baseball and in need of equipment. Donate equipment will be accepted at the uniform tryons on February 18th. If you need arrangements for pickup feel free to contact us.

Donations:
Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth youth baseball actively seeks donations. If you are in a position to donate as little as a few dollars, your time to help with coaching, maintaining or building local baseball fields or set up a scholarship,  field building or other fund your gift is greatly appreciated. Donations enable Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth Baseball to offer scholarships so that more children will be able to have the experience of playing  Babe Ruth Baseball, especially during these difficult economic times. Donations also help Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth build and maintain fields so that more area youth may learn about, experience and enjoy the sport of baseball.
