Memorial Day and Babe Ruth Baseball

On Monday, May 25, 2009 Americans across this nation and citizens located around the world will observe Memorial Day.  There will be no Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth Baseball Memorial Day weekend or on Memorial Day. Each of us needs to reflect upon the meaning of Memorial Day for it is not just a long weekend break from school or a day off from work. Since is first official observation on May 5, 1968 Memorial Day then Declaration Day has been set aside as a day of remembrance. A day where each of us should reflect upon the memory of and honor those that have fought for and defended our right of freedom while in service to our nation. Without their service and sacrifice we may not be enjoying the many freedoms we do today and that includes the freedom of choosing to participate in Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken Baseball.
