On Sunday April 3rd the Pleasant Hill AAA was matched against Springfield Major Minor 60 at the Willamette Valley Babe Ruth Complex. The AAA boys under the leadership of Coach Jeff Putnam were victorious taking their 3rd straight win of the season. Congratulations Pleasant Hill AAA and keep up the enthusiasm.

The Pleasant Hill Billies Major Minor 70 team was victorious over North Eugene. The beginning of the April 2nd game was no score on both sides then the Billies started to score then North Eugene started to catch up. The Billies took a wide lead at the end of the 5th inning with a score of 15 to 4. Due to the 10 run rule there was no 6th inning.
The Billies were out of sorts at the beginning but came together and did very well. There were a couple of injuries on the Billies tonight, hats off to the boys for making the sacrifice for the team.
The following day on April 3rd the Billies went head to head with Junction City. Pleasant Hill experienced a 9 – 3 loss. It is said, you learn more from a loss than you do from a win and a loss can be the turning point of the season.

The first game for the Pleasant Hill Billie’s Major Minor 70 team was played on Wednesday the 30th and the team started out the season with a win. PHBR Major-Minor Billies beat Sheldon Irish Major-Minors 8 to 4. This was not a high scoring game but every year Sheldon is one of the hardest teams to beat. Sheldon has a great baseball program and my hat is off to them, but the Pleasant Hill boys got them. Both teams played very hard with great moves and plays on both sides. This was anyone’s game.
Our Pleasant Hill boys played good and did not let up even when a mistake was made.
This was a great victory for the beginning of the year, to bad this was a pre-season game.
I hope that this is a sign of how the boys are going to play for the remainder of the season.

Pleasant Hill Rookie Minor Gold had their first game of the season on Monday March 28th. They had a great match up against North Eugene. Despite the extremely cold weather there was quite a crowd of spectators cheering on both teams. Rookie Minor Gold has been working hard to learn the fundamentals of machine pitch baseball and really came out to show how their hard work is paying off. We believe this team has the ability to go onward and upward and can’t wait to see them at their next game.

Spring 2011 Willamette Valley Babe Ruth Registration for the Pleasant Hill division of Babe Ruth Baseball was held at Pleasant Hill High School on February 5th and 6th. Once again we had excellent turnout and the evaluations were very positive indicating that Pleasant Hill should be looking forward to an excellent Spring Season of youth baseball.
