Sunday January 30th was a beautiful sunny day in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. We had another huge turnout for this years clinics and the kids had a fun day as they prepared for the Spring 2011 Willamette Valley Babe Ruth baseball season. The Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken evaluations for the Pleasant Hill area are next Saturday and Sunday February 5th and 6th at Pleasant Hill High School. Meet Terry Weinheimer, PHBR Secretary and Webmaster

Terry Weinheimer has been involved with Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth for the past several years along with his son Kevin and grandson Seth. Not having the practical baseball experience to serve as a coach Terry has supported PHBR teams and the organization by serving in such positions as a team grandpa, assisting with field maintenance projects, PHBR secretary and webmaster for the Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth website.
Terry is a widower, his professional background is as an educator, executive and business owner in the flooring industry. Terry is a graduate of Northwest Christian University and for the past 20 years he has been a floor covering consultant and independent floor covering inspector. As a floor covering consultant Terry specializes in testing, solving and resolving claims as they relate to flooring products and installations.
While you won’t find Terry on the field coaching you will find him at games encouraging the team and taking photos for posting on the website. Terry would like to remind all family members and friends that regardless of your baseball experience there are many other volunteer positions where Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth can use your help. These positions range from volunteering your professional or career expertise to field and equipment maintenance, fund raising, team parent or grandparent, writing articles for or assisting with the website, team reporter or photographer, or serving as a PHBR officer or director. Just ask for the success of Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth is dependent on each and every one of you!
Meet Forest Tomlinson Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth Coach and Past President
Meet Coach Forest Tomlinson the immediate past WVBR Area Director and immediate past President of Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth Baseball. For several seasons Forest has also served as a Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth coach and assistant coach.
Eight years ago Forest, his wife Miriam and son Torrey moved to Pleasant Hill, Oregon where Forest quickly became involved in the community. Forest background is in education and music. He is the chess coach for Pleasant Hill grades K-8 and also teaches guitar and Spanish in an after-school enrichment program.
Having served for over four years as the Area Director/President of Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth, Forest was a fine advocate and leader of our baseball program. Forest has demonstrated in his involvement and coaching a deep appreciation of the game. Coach Forest stated, “He is dedicated to passing on the beauty of the game and the lessons it has to offer to kids involved in the program.”
