June 20 – 21 Bobby Doerr Classic Junction City

 PHBR Rookie Majors

A bit dirty after playing 6 games over a 2 day period at the Bobby Doerr Classic held in Junction City, Oregon. The boys watched with wide eyes as the Baseball Hall of Fame 91 year old Bobby Doerr a Junction City resident pitched the first ball. What a memorable start this was to two full days of fun. Unable to enter their regular team as many of the Rookie Major boys were now playing summer baseball Pleasant Hill entered a team that included Rookie Minor players and made up of players age 7 to 9 and one 10 year old. The boys played their hearts out as the competed against teams primarily composed of 9 and 10 year old players. With 6 games played over a two day period this was a great learning experience.

From the way that this team and other Pleasant Hill teams performed during the 2009 season and at the Bobby Doerr Classic you will continue to hear great things about Pleasant Hill Babe Ruth Baseball. Pleasant Hill teams are made up of youngsters from the small communities of Oakridge, Lowell, Dexter, Jasper, Creswell, Cottage Grove and Pleasant Hill, Oregon we are certainly blessed with some excellent baseball players.
